Today, 18 January, we have a full day of meetings and activities. Our first objective was to finish obtaining the information we needed in regards to our project and then to finalize our presentation. We had a meeting with a faculty member to review our presentations at his hotel, the Courtyard Marriott. I was surprised by the size of the gate that you had to go through to drive up to the front of the hotel.
Then even after the car being inspected by a dog and some sort of scanner, we still had to be physically searched and our bags had to be placed on the scanner. Quite a bit of security for just entering a hotel or at least in my opinion. I am not used to this pervasiveness of security.
After this meeting, we headed to a meeting with our project sponsor to review our progress on our actual deliverable. This meeting was relatively quick and gave us the information we needed to improve our deliverable. I think by the time we finish it, it will be close to 50 pages as of right now it is 30 pages.
Then, afterwards we were free to finally eat lunch. At this point, it was about 4:30p and most of the restaurants are closed between meals. Dinner typically is not served until 7:30p at the earliest. Fortunately, our driver took us Hyderabad House and coaxed them into opening so we could eat. As our driver had helped us, we treated him to this late lunch with us. Our driver was appreciative of this gesture, I think.
With such a late lunch, we did not eat dinner. A few hours after dinner, we walked down the street and had fresh fruit juice. I wish I could find the same quality of fresh fruit juice on the street on the States. It is a business idea that my team has contemplated; but, one of the challenges to this being effective is not having access to the fresh fruit.
