On Friday, 14 January, we spent the morning preparing our presentations to give for our project sponsors on the following Wednesday. For lunch, we had Indo-Chinese food at the hotel. The food served at the hotel is not as good as other places that we have eaten.
After lunch, we headed down the street to another hotel that has a conference room, where we did a preliminary run through of our presentations. This preliminary run through went fine; nothing remarkable. When we finished our preliminary run through, each group had a meeting with the professor.
After the meeting, I was ready for a break so I headed to the mall with about 6 of my teammates. It was a Western style mall, just like most any you would find in the States. Afterwards, several my classmates wanted to go to a more traditional Indian market. So, we called my driver to take us as not everyone wanted to go and the other drive was not as conversant in English or friendly.
Prior to leaving for the market, we had dinner at Subway. It is amusing how most of the food is the same; but not all of it. Also, the two separate lines – one for non-veg and the other for veg intrigued me. I have seen this at other Subways so I know it is not a store specific thing.
We explored a new “market”. I was surprised that they call businesses inside actual buildings a market. When I hear the word market, I associate it with a free, open-air market. Then on the way back, we had wanted to find postcards, so the driver stopped at another store to try to find us postcards. However, it was to no avail. We will continue to look for postcards over the next several days.
