On Sunday, 16 January, we headed back to Hyderabad from Warangal. This morning we were not entirely sure how we were getting back to Hyderabad as the bus broke down en route to Warangal on Saturday. An alternative bus arrived to take us back to Hyderabad.
Upon arriving back in Hyderabad, we stopped at a store that had a wide variety of Indian products. This store was more of a higher price store without necessarily higher quality products than I had seen at the markets. Also, I would prefer to purchase my "souvenirs" directly from the artesian as I feel that is a way to contribute to the local economy. The majority of my "souvenirs" I purchased from local markets.
After the store excursion, I went to see Golconda Fort and Qutab Shahi Tombs. Golconda Fort was an impressive site. I wish I would have had more time to explore. Yet, I am still thankful I got to see as much as I did. Another reason for me to return to Hyderabad as well as India as a whole. I am not normally a big fan of looking a tombs; but the architecture and grounds surrounding the Qutab Shahi Tombs was impressive. The detailing at both of these sites is extremely impressive especially in light of the fact that these were built more than 500 years ago.
After sightseeing and traveling all day, I had a group meeting to work on our project presentation. We finished our group meeting late. Fortunately, my roommate is awesome and had brought me back some dinner as I skipped lunch to go to see Golconda fort. Thanks, roomie!
